Good tooth brushing technique, morning and evening, is the foundation of good oral hygiene.
It takes about 2 minutes to brush your teeth properly. Using a soft bristled brush, apply a small amount of flouride toothpaste (about the size of a pea) to your brush.
Brush gently so as not to damage your gums or tooth enamel.
Brush away from your gums, on the front and back of your teeth, a small area at a time.
Once the front and rear of your teeth are clean, brush the biting surfaces (where you chew) of your teeth.
Rinse with a small amount of water.
If your dentist has advised, finish with a mouthwash.
Try not to eat between meals.
Your dentist will be happy to show you how best to brush your teeth and answer any questions you might have. -Make sure to bring your toothbrush to your 6 monthly appointment.
