Dr. John Griffin qualified in 1970 and provides Psychiatry Services at Ranelagh Medical.
He interned at Galway University Hospital and previously worked in The Rotunda Hospital in Obstetrics and Gynecology taking an L.M.
In 1972 he moved to St. Patrick's University Hospital and worked there for almost 40 years as a General Adult Psychiatrist, specialising in Eating Disorders.
He studied Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Dublin, St. Mary's Hospital Corshalton in Surrey, The Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street and The University of Bristol.
He set up the first National Eating Disorder unit in Ireland, treating patients from age 12 upwards.
He has written many papers and lectured extensively in Eating Disorders nationally and internationally.
He now works in child, adolescent and adult Psychiatry specialising in Eating Disorders and Medical-Legal work.
